You can’t help but being fascinated by Villa Scannelli and its unique situation, which offers you a 360 degrees view on the idyllic Orcia Valley, overlooking the enchanting Tuscan countryside encasing the medieval towns of Montalcino, Pienza and San Quirico. The villa is situated on the top of a hill and surrounded by ancient cypresses and regular rows of olive groves, always green at every time of the year. Villa Scannelli is the pearl of the district and your stay there will plunge you into a total Tuscan countryside experience. The structure is a two-storey “U” shaped building dating back to the 1600s and retaining the original terracotta flooring, wooden-beam floors and the ancient quality of arched ceilings. The house has got spacious rooms with an antique-style furnishing, but it isn’t missing modern comfort and elegance. Outdoors there is a well equipped porch and veranda, where the guests can enjoy a pleasant breakfast or dinner “al fresco”. Villa Scannelli is the ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday among nature and you will enjoy its special atmosphere during all your stay, both in summer and winter: a big fireplace and central heating will guarantee a charming and comfortable winter holiday. Villa Scannelli’s strategic position will allow its guests to organize day trips to Siena, Florence and all the main Tuscan towns as well as to the nearby watering places Bagno Vignoni (ancient Roman baths) San Filippo, Rapolano Terme and, for those interested in a day at the sea, to the beautiful coast of Argentario and Marina di Grosseto.

PARK: The 5000 square metres park is surrounded by cypresses, plants, flowers and is mainly kept as lawn. There is a covered parking, a paved inner court around the old well and an arched gallery connecting the main building to the swimming pool area.

SWIMMING POOL: The swimming pool, offering a wonderful view on the panorama, measures 15 x 7,5 m., is 0,90 to 2,30 m. deep and is open from the 28th of April to the 6th of October. The area around the pool is either brick floored or lawn and is furnished with comfortable lounges, umbrellas and an outdoor shower.

INTERIORS: : Starting from the main entrance on the left there is a studio area, a bathroom with shower and laundry, a small bar and a big living room with sofas, tables and satellite TV. On the right there is a big dining room with a fireplace and the kitchen. All the downstairs rooms give onto the inner court. In front of the main entrance there is a big stone staircase leading to the first floor. On this floor there is the night area: on the left one of the three suites (each made up of a double room, a sofa bed and a bathroom with shower) and a single room with bathroom and shower. On the right there are the other two suites and two big double rooms with their bathroom and shower.

SERVICES INCLUDED: Water, gas for kitchen use, electricity, initial and final cleaning, weekly linen, swimming pool and garden maintenance.

SERVICES UPON REQUEST (supplied and payable locally to the owner): Extra cleaning (€ 10,00/hour), extra linen (€ 12,00 per person), heating (€ 1,50/l), wood (€ 15,00/100 kg.) and telephone (to pay as much as you use), early opening of the swimming pool (€ 200,00 per week).
