La Canonica is an attractive property at the foot of the town of Cortona which is only 4 km away. As its name suggests, it is the presbytery (“canonica”) of a small 11th century church that still forms the back part of the house. The restoration gives to the house a particular charme showing the owner’s and the cosmopolitan personality. The garden consists of gravel and a well kept lawn. The whole property is fenced in and the presence of trees helps to ensure the clients’ privacy. PARK: the garden is about 1500 sqm with a beautiful lawn. The area around the house is gravel with two chaise-longues and a dining table, seating 8, by the shade of an old tree. SWIMMING POOL: open from last Saturday of April till first Saturday of October, the pool measures 12 x 6 m with a depth varying from 1,10 to 2,10 m. The pool is surrounded by the lawn and has deck chairs, sun umbrella and shower. INTERIORS: La Canonica has three floors connected by a sandstone staircase. Almost all windows look out over the garden. Ground floor: the entrance door leads directly to the living room/kitchen/dining room. Although a single room, it is well divided into the various zones with a beautiful worktop housing sink, stove and dishwasher. Next to the kitchen is a small portico, with an antique wood oven, ideal for summer meals. Behind thi there is a small outbuilding houses the washing machine. A twin bedroom with joinable beds and a small bathroom with shower complete the ground floor. First floor: twin bedroom with joinable beds with en suite bathroom with shower and large double bedroom with dressing room and en suite bathroom with tub. Satellite TV and video recorder. Second floor: A study leads into a large double bedroom with en suite bathroom with tub. SERVICES INCLUDED: electricity, water, gas for cooking use, initial and final cleaning, weekly linen, garden and pool maintenance SERVICES UPON REQUEST (supplied and payable locally to the owner): extra cleaning for a minimum of 2 hours (€ 10,00/hour), extra linen (€10,00/per person), heating (on consumption up to date market prices), firewood (€ 15,00/100 Kg). N.B.
